John Paul Urizar’s photography is clean, fresh and simply beautiful. He is one of those rare professionals who has the wonderful ability to show the world around us at its very best, through his lens. His skills are particularly showcased in high-end food photography, where he can turn the simplicity of an egg into beautiful art, or transform a basic cake into a mouthwatering image.
John Paul’s visual abilities might be innate – he recalls his father shooting family events on Super 8 and his uncle giving him his first camera aged 11 – but it’s also a skill accumulated through study (he has a Bachelor of Arts in Design) and a 20+ year career, based in Sydney with his own beautiful, natural light Alexandria-based kitchen studio.
